Does not hold the fabric taught
I was very disappointed with this embroidery hoop. The hoop doesn't hold the fabric taught, moreover the tightening screw is difficult to turn to get the hoop to close tightly, infact it made my thumb quite sore with the amount of times I had to keep tightening the screw as the fabric kept sagging. I was using cotton fabric.

Good quality
The hoops are very good but I will not buy online as I have to go through all on the shelves in store as they are quite often warped.. so the inner does not sit flush so doesn’t actually do the job of keeping the fabric in place. When in good condition they are excellent hoops, well priced, sturdy, good screw mechanism

Hoop hoop hooray!
This hoop was just what I was looking for (the top of a mobile). It is well finished and smooth, so could be used for presentation. It is lightweight, as I think it is bamboo. The 2 hoops fit well together, I think it would hold material well, it certainly holds strands of wool well. I would buy it again.

Loving my cross stitch hoop.
My new cross stitch hoop has made my life so much easier and now I can enjoy stitching and not get so frustrated using just a frame that hadn't been on a stand. It's making counting the threads a lot better for my eyes as I can position my lamp whilst conveniently holding onto the hoop. Thanks Hobbycraft.

Cross stitch hoop
Great size for a large cross stitch and helps you focus your work in one area.
Only negative is the screw to tighten the hoop is difficult to use as you need really good fine motor skills. If there was a cross head end on it then a screw driver could be used meaning it could be more easily tightened

Does the job
This ring does the job to some extent however it would be better if the screw had a slot to use a screwdriver to make sure you could get it as tight as possible instead of relying on having the strength of my fingers to turn the scew which is very difficult as I have arthritis in my fingers.

Flimsy
The last couple of these hoops have been alright, but haven't been brilliant. The fastening at the top bends quite easily and the hoops themselves are quite flimsy. Glad I got them when they were on offer!

Flimsy and doesn’t hold its shape
Whilst the hoop is a decent price, the quality is reflected in its abilities to do its job. It doesn’t maintain its shape and fails to hold embroidery in a consistently taught state.

Very good quality and reasonably priced
All embroidery hoops are reasonably priced and definitely worth the money. They are very sturdy which is good as I use thick material. There were some very small splints.

Lovely hoop
This is a lovely hoop. A little on the light coloured side, but perfect for what I was looking for. Even had protective wrapping on the metal to avoid scratching.

Useful for purpose
These are ok and do the job they are bought for vut I have to sandpaper them before use. If the store had the plastic hoops I would of purchased yhose instead

Simple Hoop but it works
Light weight hoop that works and not at risk of breaking, I used these for pin boards so I added cork, padding, foam board and fabric and it held really well
