Great base for great art
I find acrylic paint is a little slippery on a pre primed canvas and needs more coats to get the depth required. Put a coat or even two of Daler Rowney Gesso on first and you will find your paint handles much better. More expensive Gesso is out there but unless you are a master artist this product is pretty cool for the rest of us :) It's a great base for your great Art

I love this, it's great value for money. It's a quality product that does exactly what it should do, making my work a breeze. I highly recommend Daler Rowney Gesso for priming any surface before painting. I also highly recommend using Hobbycraft as a place to shop. Love love love your products.

An excellent, smooth product providing a great base for paining with oils or acrylic paints.
The Gesso is a professional product, smooth, rich and enables the preparation of canvas and board to be even and stable. This is not a cheaply made product. As an artist who paints with both oils and acrylics, I would highly recommend this product.

An essential product for acrylic paintingt
I love this Gesso primer, it gives a lovely smooth surface for applying your first layer of acrylic. It allows the first layer to look rich in colour without the canvas showing through.

Good value and quality
I like this product. It comes in a sensible size as I find I am using larger canvases, and consequently more Gesso. It goes a long way and is not too expensive. Does the job very well!

a good quality gesso at a good price, it can be used as a canvas primer and sometimes used with PVA on cheaper canvases to improve the adherence of acrylic paints even student quality

Just what I needed!
Used it to coat cardboard ready for painting (Lego man costume) and it was perfect! Needed 2 tubs for the whole thing so it lasted really well and the paint went over it perfectly!

Easy to use, works great
I applied this to paper so i could use oils in my sketchbook and it worked wonderfully!
It dried super fast, with no oil transfer to the other side. I did do 2 layers though.

Perfectly good
Perfectly good gesso - I'm not an expert, but I wonder how much 'better' a more expensive brand might be?
This does the job well on 'raw' canvas, and I'm quite picky!

Good coverage for priming panel boards
A good product reasonably priced that has good covering properties and is sandal to a chief a smooth painting surface if that is what is required for your artwork

Can't fault this Daler Rowney product. Primes canvas and board, and covers old acrylics well. Will use again, although it goes far, so is good value too.

This is pretty good stuff and worth the money.
takes a few coats if on wooden board that soaks up the paint.
Takes the paint nicely afterwards though.
