Handy and portable
I got this self contained sharpener because it traps the shavings so they don’t go all over the place when I am out drawing and painting. Very neat and tidy.

My pencil was butchered as sharpener was blunt though new.
Customer service excellent. Tried sharpener on store pencil with same unhappy result I had and refunded my money.

It sharpens well
Sharpeners are a product that bugs me. I like to sketch. I like a nice, Sharp point to draw with. I do not like to knife my pencils to death. But to find a real, good quality, manual sharpener is hard. I was sorely disappointed at the Hobbycraft range. A quality sharpener is invaluable to me but not even Hobbycraft supply one it seems?

Disappointing
The pencil sharpener worked for only half a pencil, then it just turned the pencil without sharpening. I tried it on 2 different brands of pencil crayons and it still only sharpened for 1 rotation of the pencil. Really disappointed, and not to the standard I expect from a Hobbycraft product.

Derwent supplies have always been fairly good for a fair price, this product isn't either to be honest! May as well have bought 10 of the typical school brand sharpeners as they wouldn't have shredded my pencils to bits and made them practically useless to me.

Looking for a sharpener for school, then def recommend this one. No more rows over broken sharpener. Really pleased with this product, easy to empty too. Clear view so can see when it needs emptied.

Well designed sharpener
I love this! Very simple to use not fiddly, good quality. Flip lid with 2 sizes of sharpener. It has a clear box to collect the sharpenings so you can see when it is full. Keeps mess to a minimum.
