Great book for beginners
It's a great book to help learn the basics. I've only just started it so not gone into making anything yet. Really clear and easy to follow instructions with pictures.
Only downside it that I saw it elsewhere online a few days later for half the price!!

Great pictorial book
This is a great book for beginners. Theres lots of information around tools and materials to use for your various projects. Getting familiar with stitches and pictures help to know your following instructions correctly is really useful.
This was a great help in understanding abbreviations and how to read patterns.
Would recommend for any beginner and intermediate crotcheters out there.

I was looking for an introductory book, as I am planning to hold some beginners' crochet sessions. This book is excellently illustrated, and goes from the very basics to specific, easy-to-achieve projects, and includes a gallery of stitches. Very good value for money at £9.99 Hardback.

I haven’t had any experience in crochet before. I bought this book as it was recommended to me. In combination with youtube videos it is very good for beginners. It explains all the stitches step by step and even provides a little project after each new stitch.

I recently purchased this, I used to crochet at as a child with my grandmother but felt that I needed a bit of a reminder. This book is great, the instructions and pictures are so clear, it's very in depth and teaches you everything that you'll need to get started. I believe it would be great for a complete beginner. I've always wanted to learn how to knit so I'm thinking about picking up the knitting version of this book, so needless to say, I'm very happy with this book

I have started to learn how to Crochet; I chose this book, as I also have the baking book and prefer the layout of this brand. This book is very helpful as it has step by step guides with images showing you how the stitches work, so you know if you are doing it correctly. It gives an in depth explanation of all of the Crochet terms and which each yarn is used for. It also contains patterns to Crochet various items that you can try out.

A great little book for beginners
This is a great book for complete beginners (like me) and breaks down all the stitches into easy steps. One of the most useful things is that it has diagrams showing the directions of the stitches. The projects are placed to use the stitches you have just learnt, which is helpful.
There is a great variety of projects and the ones I have done so far have been great fun. Dropped one star as I think there is a mistake in the granny square pattern - as far as I can tell!

A really useful reference book
I bought this book for my granddaughter who has begun enthusiastically to crochet and asked for another book, How to Crochet Sea Creatures for her 14th birthday.
In the end I bought both books so that she would have no trouble in understanding crochet patterns and the more advanced stitches that she would need to make the sea animals. She was delighted with both books and is making excellent progress.
