Great gift for beginners
My 7 year old daughter loved this Christmas gift. The smaller needles are perfect for young children and she has been addicted ever since. I purchased this online and collected in store. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Thanks Hobbycraft

Love the knitting set for beginners, my granddaughter wanted to learn how to knit, because she's seen many knit.
It's got everything for the beginner, French knitting, pom pom makers, and knitting needles, along with patterns and wool. It's a great little kit

Difficult for a six year old
A crochet hook would be better for the knitting loop as difficult to pick up loop to go over knotch!! Lovely colours of wool though

Wouldn't recommended for under 10's
Bought as a gift but very disappointed. The set is far too complicated for children at the younger end (6+) of the suggested age range. The french knitter is so small for the size of hook that its almost impossible even as an adult to use it correctly. Chunkier needles and wool would work better for young beginners. I would not recommend for anyone under 10.

This set is very comprehensive giving lots of options for introducing children to knitting. It is difficult to use the tool for French Knitting for children as it needs to be a bit thinner. All in all good value for money.
