Brilliant idea.
I bought this product due to the magnifying glass so I can paint my miniatures. As the shape of the miniatures allow me to recreate the body through the process of painting, I am now then able to remember the figure because I have a photographic memory so I am able to apply the recreation of what I’m painting through the magnifying glass, so then I can draw what I remember and without being able to see without the magnifying glass I thought it would be a good experiment to see what I can do once with the magnifying glass.

High hopes.
My son has one of these for his fine work and I wanted to repair some jewellery so thought this would be a big help. Sadly I Found it very difficult to focus the magnifier properly, the reflected light blinded me, and when I tried to move it around the the glass flopped over.. In the end I gave up and managed as I always do with a set of pliers and my reading glasses.

Great value for money
Great for those detailing moments and easily adjustable.
I wear glasses and this is such a help when painting small 1/35 scale model figures and far cheaper than going the route of a illuminated angle lamp/magnifier.
Very happy to write this review and I rarely write reviews but am more than happy to recommend this product

Really useful 3rd hand
Looking at the other reviews I was prepared to mount it on a baseboard for stability which I have done , this has made it rock solid, I also nipped up all the joints so they could be positioned easily without re tightening,The magnifier is very clear and makes what would be a very fidlley job a cinch.

Fantastic for model making.
Holds all thr pieces steady while you paint or glue. Easy to use, and weighted stand makes it very stable. Magnifying glass attached also helps my failing eye sight see the work more clearly.

Really Helpful Tool

Cheap and nasty but it works...sort of
I bought this to help with modelling 'N gauge' railway bits and pieces. The lense is a bit loose in the chrome rim so a bit annoying to use as it wobbles all the time. The base, which is described as 'heavy' (presumably to prevent the thing from falling over) actually doesn't work. It still falls over anyway as it is so top heavy! Still, it was cheap to buy and I can see why! In hindsight I would spend a bit more and get something that works.

Excellent value for money
Does everything it says on the tin. One small grouse is that the base could be heavier as prone to topple in certain situations - easily avoided if weight added to base or fixed to work surface (or to a piece of wood).

Poor quality
Quite poorly made. Trying to tighten the grip on one arm resulted in the thread stripping far too easily and I suspect on examination it was bent. I’ll be returning it soon! Guess where it’s made!

Useful for boy with 1 paralyzed arm
I did not get to try this product but left it for a 13 year old boy to be able to build models with in Romania where no such products are available.

First rate product
Can't fault this helping hand tool. I use it for minature house building and book nooks as I need to paint small pieces or hold pieces still to glue and fix. The grips angle in many ways making any task possible. The weighted base means I don't need to think too much about balancing the pieces without it falling over. Fantastic price too.

Helping hands and magnifier
I have not used it yet but it will be of great help holding the smaller items of the models when they are being constructed. The only criticism is the size of the base,could do with being be a little bigger for stability reasons. All in all a good little tool and well worth the price.

Reasonably priced tool, unlike some others at hobby craft ( I’d rather wait the postage time from eBay with the savings made ).
Anyway, this is perfect and the arms stay nice and tight as you work, I use mine for soldering and it’s great.

Great but prepare to be a little dissapointed....
Magnifying glass is loose but clips are very tough amd function well as long as you add a softening barrier between the clips and plastic cause if you go raw it can damage the plastic on models

This is OK(ish) but spend few £ on a better one.
It's a magnifying glass on a mouth with crocodile clips on adjustable arms. The arms are difficult to adjust but that may be down to my inexperience with it. Not much else to say.

Build issues
The price is good and when you free off the screws it works well but I experienced 2 screws which were over tightened which nearly sheared when loosening them.

Really useful piece
The clips are great for painting, the only trouble is the base isn’t quite big enough to trust with the magnifying glass as well as whatever you clip to it.

Helping Hands with Magnifier.
Bought this for some fiddly soldering. Very pleased, good value. Only criticism is that the frame for the magnifier is quite sharp, otherwise excellent.
