I brought the book to learn myself how to crochet I found it difficult to follow and found videos this is more about the way I learn than the book which I think I will find more helpful once I’ve mastered the basics a bit more as the pictures are helpful

Useful book
A very useful book to help the complete beginner. The only issue I had was as a left hander I struggled with all of the diagrams made for right handed people! I managed to work around it though and followed the useful and fun projects.

Easy to follow
The book is well set out with information first which helps to understand the patterns later. The patterns are easy to follow. I managed to start a pattern quite quickly despite being left handed. Good to get started with crochet.

Exactly what I wanted
This book was just what I needed. I did crochet quite a few years ago and needed to have something to remind me. I learnt something I didn't know before - a magic circle. Very good instructions with clear diagrams. Perfect.

Excellent for a beginner
Since having this book, within 4 days I had crocheted a snood and now on hat no2! At the age of 51 I had never made anything with wool, now I am in my element and obviously need more wool! Great book! Thanks x

Good basic book
This is my first attempt at crochet and was recommended a book to start. Found it good for information but still needed a visual demo on-line to grasp the basics. Some nice easy patterns in the book though.

Lovely illustrations but needs better descriptions
Everything is beautifully laid out and the projects are lovely but some of the descriptions of the methods are confusing. I needed to refer to YouTube videos to understand.
