  1. Work 5 tr stitches in the same stitch.

  2. Drop the loop from your hook.

  3. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of the group.

  4. Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.

Rnd 1: 1 dc, 1 htr, 1 tr, 1 qr, picot, 1 qr, 1 tr, 1 htr, 1 dc, into magic ring. (8)

Finishing: Fasten off. Place back sides of one Colour A Tail and one Colour B Tail together. Slst around edge in Colour B to join. 

Crown

Crown Under

Using Colour F. 

Rnd 1: 18 ch, slst in the first ch made to create a loop, [1 dc, 1 popcorn] 9 times. (18)

Change to Colour D. 

Rnds 2-5: Dc around. 

Rnd 6: [1 dec, 1 dc] 6 times. (12)

Rnd 7: 6 dec. (6)

Finishing: Fasten off and sew hole closed. 

 

Crown Top

Using Colour E. 

Rnd 1: 18 ch, slst into first ch made to create a loop, 18 dc. (18)

Rnd 2: [1 slst, (1 htr, picot, 1 htr) into next st] 9 times. (27)

Band 1

Using Colour E. 

Row 1: 10 ch. (10)

Finishing: Fasten off. 

 

Band 2

Using Colour E. 

Row 1: 5 ch, work 1 ch around the middle of Band 1, 5 ch. (11)

Finishing: Fasten off. 

 

Cross

Using Colour E. 

Row 1: 2 ch, [2 ch, 1 slst in 2nd ch from hook] 3 times, 2 slst. (4)

Finishing: Fasten off. 

Assembly 

  • Place Crown Top on Crown Under, sew to fasten. 
  • Place the Bands over Crown Top, sew to fasten. 
  • Sew Cross to the Bands join. 

Cloak

Using Colour D. 

Row 1: 17 ch, starting in 3rd ch from hook, 15 htr, turn. (15)

Row 2: 2 ch, [2 htr in next st, 4 htr] 3 times, turn. (18)

Row 3: 2 ch, [2 htr in next st, 5 htr] 3 times, turn. (21)

Row 4: 2 ch, [2 htr in next st, 6 htr] 3 times, turn. (24)

Rows 5-10: 2 ch, htr across, turn. 

Finishing: Fasten off. Using Colour F, [dc down side of piece, [1 htr, 1 popcorn] across] 2 times, slst to join.

Assembly
  • Embroider eyes, nose and eyebrows using Colour C and Colour F. 
  • Fold Ears and sew to Head. 
  • Sew complete Crown to Head.
  • Sew Neck to Body. 
  • Stuff Neck, sew Head to Neck. 
  • Sew Legs to Body. 
  • Sew Tail to Body. 
  • Slst through Cloak in Colour E for decoration. 
  • Tie Cloak around Neck, using either a scrap of Colour F or a few chs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I agree with the suggestion that it would have been useful to state the finished dimensions in the description. I used UK stitches etc and the finished corgi is much bigger that it appears in the picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Platinum Jubilee Corgi I am in the middle of making this for 4 of my grandkids for Friday but need help with the tail. Does one need to do a chain and if so how many. It’s very confusing so any help would be extremely helpful
