Return of the Mac yarn
I have bought this yarn in various colours numerous times and have had no problems with it before.
However my last purchase was different. The ecru ball I discovered was not a continuous ball but 2 different lengths. It had been knotted together was a rather obvious knot. I was working on a large project and needed large lengths cut. Needless to say this ball being knotted caused waste.
I was making a plant holder with the same yarn in teal. I had almost completed the hanger when I noticed near the bottom one part of a strand was almost threadbare and extremely thin. I had to completely take apart the plant hanger & replace this strand, there was no way it would have been strong enough to hold a plant. I was disappointed & frustrated with the discrepancies in both of these different coloured balls.

Every thing was perfect for my hobbie
Just started to teach my self macrame!! The staff in the shop were extremely helpful ! Showing me what I need to purchase! Cord rings and a pole! Everything I got was top quality.

I bought this on-line thinking it was as advertised a yarn which could be knitted on 7mm needles. When I went collect the order the assistant was great and advised me that it wasn't suitable for knitting a jumper - too heavy, but I couldn't return it there and then I had to return when they opened four days later.
Not a great feeling that I had wasted my time through no fault of my own - don't mind when its my fault but this way round not so good

Good quality product
In general I found Return of the Mac a good quality product. I liked the Ecru colour and found it soft and fairly easy to work with. I made a market bag, and was pleased with the result.
My only complaint was that there were several knotted joins in the ball. Because of the thickness of the yarn they would be very visible if worked into the project. This required lots of working in of loose ends.

Disappointed
I used this having watched a Hobbycraft video on how to make a piped cushion. This is what was recommended for the piping. It just about works but I've since found out that you can actually purchase piping cord. Who knew!? The piping would have been much nicer with piping cord I think, and as you can buy it by the metre would be likely to be cheaper than the £8.50 for this.

Perfect for Macramé
Really pleased with this, it’s really difficult to find the right thing, especially something I can touch and feel rather than buying blind on line. Inspired by the Hobbycraft blog and remembering my mum making Macramé hanging basket when I was a kid. I had to go back and buy all the lovely colours, made a few things with this now just need some more projects!

Excellent for a Beginner
I got just one of these so that I could trial some basic techniques as a beginner without having to spend too much and it was perfect. Learning some simple knots I made a great hanging that actually looked really high quality. Not sure if this is normal but there was a knot halfway through the ball but that was easy to cut out without any impact on my design.

My daughter has recently found a new hobby making plant holders and wall art using rope for macrame. This is the only shop we can find it either that or online, which we would rather not. Hobbycraft has such a variety of products that has encouraged a lot of arts and crafts over the years with growing children ( and adults who want to try something new)

Macrame yarn
This products was ok for creating macrame pieces, it would probably be more suited for more intricate work, I also found that this product was difficult to create a fringed effect with.
Although I had difficulty working with this product it was good quality and maybe my difficulty was due to me picking the wrong product for what I wanted it for.

Disappointed with this yarn
I recently bought this yarn. I am new to macrame and this looked a good quality yarn to start with. However I found it really difficult to work with as I am working around a wreath frame and found that the yarn kept twisting and knotting really badly. Also the yarn was knotted together in places which is not good at all!

Visited hobbycraft edinburgh fir macrami things.Coukdnt find all I wanted so was paying for what I did buy and the check out lady asked if I found everything I wanted..I said no and she went with me and took me to what I had missed.Dont remeber her name but she walked with a stick as had a bad leg..what a saint she was

This product is a dream to work with
After just using basic string before, this is an absolute dream to work with. I have been making macrame plant hangers and this product hardly frays, is so soft to touch and has a perfect thickness !
I will be stocking up on this as it’s 3 for 2 !! So works out costing me only £2 per plant hanger . Excellent product

This product was such a great and amazing purchase.
I got these for my mum to use, and so far she’s made two things from it! She said it was a really good material and that she’d want to use it again. It didn’t fray after being cute and was a perfect width for the projects she wanted to use.
I’m going to be buying some again very soon for her to use. :)

Perfect for macrame
Exactly what I was looking for in plated cord for my macrame. Soft, doesn’t fray and easy too work with. Perfect buy for what I needed it for. Will buy again, though I would like more pastel colours in this range if that’s possible. I always like to see the product in person before I purchase.

Nice yarn
A lovely soft yarn perfect for making macrame hangers. The wool went quite far and I made about 3-4 hangers with it. Was also on 3 for 2 so I got 3 for £12. Only downside is they do not feather at the edges if you are looking for something to make leaf or feathers with. Overall a good product.
