This is essential for all knitters!
For example: If you are knitting a jumper and not comfortable with knitting both sleeves together on the same needle[s], you can get to a point in the pattern for the first sleeve, transfer the stitches to the stitch holder, then start on the second one to the same point - swap over. Keep repeating and if you use stitch markers as well, that way you can make sure both sleeves are exactly the same length prior to the armhole shaping.

Good but...
These are a good size and nice and smooth with a fine end so it is easy to slip along your needle and take stitched off at one go. Only criticism is that it doesn't take much pressure to open the end and you need to be careful if you stuff it into your knitting bag (like I do) as it can come undone easily.

Pony stitch holder 17.5 cm
I bought two of these for a raglan sleeved jumper I was knitting. I seem to be at odds with all the great reviews because I found that they came open very easily while I was manoeuvring the knitting around and I could have lost my stitches. Maybe I need to bend them a little to make them stay closed?

Great for holding my stitches!!
Trying to measure two sleeves when you are designing your own jumper is a nightmare especially when the stitches fall off the knitting needle or a holding thread for the stitches accidentally gets caught and is pulled out. This is the tool you need! Wished I’d bought it years ago!

clear instructions
I am a complete beginner in crochet and although I haven't started using the book yet, the instructions look easy to follow. There doesn't appear to be any patterns for the granny squares which decorate the front of the book. So I am disappointed about that.

Not secure
Although its easy enough to pick up the stitches you have to be very careful as it is very flimsy and easily comes unhooked at the end meaning the stitches can slide off. Needs to be just slightly longer on the pointy end bit.

iIndispensable to renew my set of 3 stitch holders
I needed a LARGE stitch holder and could not think of any better than getting a "pony" one, like the one I used to have before my daughter pinched my set of 3.
Now, must get a medium and a small one too - ("pony", of course!)

Very useful!
Really pleased with my stitch holder, so much easier than trying to keep the stitches on the main needle! Just got back into knitting as a granddaughter has arrived so now there’ll be no stopping me!

Does the job but needs a better fastening
The pin is a little loose on the fastening it opens too easily and allows stitches to fall off. Easily fixed by securing with an elastic band but a little disappointing

Good product
Holds a good number of stitches. I did wind a small rubber band at the end of the stitches as I wasn’t convinced it wouldn’t come undone in my bag.

Robust and effective
A robust and effective stitch holder. Does exactly what it is supposed to do, and is long enough to hold plenty of stitches when knitting a jumper.

Point of stitch holder too short
Stitches keep falling off the holder as the point at the end is too short and keeps coming undone. Length of pin needs to be longer to avoid this.

Sturdy
Strong holder, the fastening could be more secure but ok so far. Only option available that I could purchase so no comparison could be made.

Serves its purpose
This product is fine for the task it is used for, not as sturdy as I would have liked but that is maybe because my other one is very old

Very easy to use and clips firmly
I have had stitch holders that are either too loose or difficult to open. This one is easy to use. Fastens firmly but easy to open.

Stitch holder
Move the stitches to the opposite side from the opening as it comes open quite easily and that will stop the stitches falling out.

Great price and well made.
Always struggled fitting stitches onto an old nappy pin so used my birthday offer to buy a real stitch holder. So much better!

The stitch holder looks good but cones apart too easily. The stitches came off and I had to redo a couple of rows!!
