Never knew I needed one before I bought it
I bought it on impulse thinking it would come in handy. Since then I have found myself using it all the time. I am making a bag so have used it to measure the strips I need and it was used to straighten the edges. I can see I will use it to pin hems on clothing and that is just my sewing uses. It has centimetres and then inches marked which is useful as I can never convert one to the other.

Multipurpose ruler.
Bought two, one for my daughter’s dressmaking and one for my son in law’s woodworking. So no fights and they don’t pinch each other’s. Both been used for various projects from measuring furniture to designing a motorcycle turntable. With metal end pieces and hanging eye they are at home both in the hobby room and in the workshop. Excellent buy.

It's a meter rule
Not much to say about a wooden meter rule but it does its job. It's lightweight, and the addition of the metal caps to the ends are nice as it reduces the chance of the wood splitting should the end hit something unintended. Markings are also very easy to read.
Only 4 stars however as it does feel like it would break easily.

makes measuring large fabric easier
Bought to replace my ancient 1yard folding ruler and certainly makes cutting & measuring lareege pieces of fabric easier than with a retractable ruler. With hole at each end hangs up on the wall out of the way when not in use. Measures both metric and inches too.

Perfect for measuring fabric
Had an very old metre rule which was invaluable when dressmaking, but it's lost somewhere in the house! Saw this one whilst purchasing something else and decided to buy. Good if you are measuring large pieces of fabric and have put to use already. Good quality.

The best!
Literally the best ruler out there for all my crafts. It’s hardcore and even with my toddler playing with it, it doesn’t break. I wouldn’t advice letting toddlers play with it but we like to craft together so ... anyways I’d definitely recommend it!

So useful
I remember these as a child. My father was a furniture maker and had a 'Yard stick'. I often borrowed it. Obviously now we are metric so the name has changed. Great for marking material up when making soft furnishings or clothes.

I needed the ruler to measure frames positions, and having a double sided ruler made it very easy for me...
as the ruler have enough width i was able to place my spirit level on top of it to guarantee right framing balance...

As someone who sews, a meter stick is a must. This is a nice stick, it does the job and is cheap. It is not particularly heavyweight or robust but it doesn't feel like a piece of paper either. An essential piece of kit

Good ruler. Very useful not only for sewing, it is also great for art projects. It is also affordable compare to some other rulers in that section. I would have liked more choice in that price range though.

The product was warped so quite useless
The rule was warped and when I took it back to look at others there wasn’t one which was flat. I had to buy a plastic one instead. The staff in the Farnborough Shop were very helpful.

I love the look of this ruler, and the easy to see measurements, and a great price. However the ruler is bowed and therefore doesn’t allow straight lines to be drawn.
