Lovely product
Lovely product, really simple to use. Managed to personalise my first wooden keyring after a little play to see what the tips are all like. Stand is ok, it does the job
The tool heats up quickly but does take sometime to cool down so if your burning a project that needs different tip sizes it can take a while to complete

Disappointing
Initially my husband was delighted with this Christmas gift and used it several times. Unfortunately on one occasion the pointed brass nib over heated to the point of bending and was unusable. Concerned about safety issues also he binned it. Will buy a better quality item next time. Unsuitable for children.

Broken in less than a day
Should have trusted some of the reviews before purchasing.
Due to no heat control nib overheated and snapped with no pressure.
Guess you get what you pay for so I have ordered a more professional kit from elsewhere

Decent starter kit
A good starter kit, it’s nice it includes small wooden items to start, different nibs and good instructions. Personally I do wish the electric cord was a little bit longer for ease due to where I craft, and perhaps having some starter designs or examples to help beginners start as trying to think of a nice simple design when your first starting can be difficult. But overall happy with my purchase, it’s a good place to start if you’ve not done pyrography before.

very flimsy, unstable and therefor dangerous in the holder, no temperature regulation , changing of tips can only been done after letting the device cool off for quite a while, screw mechanism easily damaged resulting in hot tips falling out.

This is a good starter kit
This is a good starter kit and has been great for personalising gift tags, boxes and decorations. The lead on the pyrography tool is a little short so easier to use with an extension lead or plug sicket at same level as your work station.

Bought this for a Christmas present. Although not used yet the kit looks great for a new hobby. Bought some extra wood pieces because I’m sure when they’ve tried it they will want to do more and more projects.

This box has got everything I needed to start up some pyrography. I'm not great at it yet! but it's easy enough to use and it's great! For starting out new at this hobby it's a really good little starter kit.

Not a good product
I would not recommend this item. The pen over heats and the nibs bent without any pressure. I guess you get what you pay for. Had to throw it away in the end and buy a professional pyrography set.

Great little kit bought for my grandson.
Nicely presented in a box with good quality bits and pieces. I bought for my grandson who loves anything intricate and this set ticks all the boxes. He’s delighted!

Very disappointed
Due to not being able to control the heating function, the oen overheated. The tip bent and was unable to remove and replace with another tip. Very disappointing

Good for beginners but could be better
I was gifted this set, and after a couple of times using it, I have found the following:
- The handle is 9cm away from the tip and this makes motor-control challenging; resting my hand on a yoga block helped with this.
- The cable is too short, which restricted movement. I had to have my multi-plug extension resting on the table to stop this.
- There is no physical on/off switch on the tool and no light to indicate when the tool has reached burning temperature. I had to set a 5 min timer after plugging it in to let me know when it was ready to use. Since heat dissipates from the tip when in use (heat transference to the wood), I have no way of knowing if the tool will overheat when plugged in but not in use. This means that if I want to take a 5 min break to make a cuppa, I need to unplug it first; but then when I come back, I have no way of knowing how long to leave it to heat up again before resuming.
All that being said, it is a good beginners tool with a variety of useful tips, and the kit contains everything you need to try pyrography for the first time. I guess it's done it's job as I'm already looking to upgrade to a more advanced pyrography tool that has a shorter length for better motor-control and an adjustable temperature.

Lo ely box presentation box so would be a lo ely gift.
However leaflet of use could be either more detailed or include sites to go on to explain use of all nibs

Overheats tips - broke on first use.
My husband was so happy to give me this at Christmas, as I was to receive it.
Only used it once as during that use, the heat bent a tip as I was carefully unscrewing it and now I can't screw any nib in. My husband is going to be gutted when I tell him.
I'll look elsewhere for a pyrography pen - when I have spare cash to buy myself one.
So, so disappointed 😞

Exactly what I needed
Had a practice as soon as I got home. Easy to follow instructions, came with a good selection of wood to try different techniques. Heats up really quickly and light to use.

This is an awful piece of kit. I bought it to replace a very old machine and it became very clear to me I had wasted my money. I would return it but I have opened the box and used one of the cheap pieces of mdf to practice on. It might be ok for an absolute beginner but the pen is awkward to hold and the part you grip onto is too far away from the tip, the lead is too short, the resulting lettering is poor and I have got my old machine back out because it does a much better job.
