Great value
Nice canvas with stretcher blocks to tension after painting. Stapled on the reverse so sides can be painted with no need for a frame. Online bulk buy is excellent value for the 14" x 18" size.

Very good value. Primed canvas on plain wooden stretcher, with materials as you would expect for the money. The canvas could be stretched a little tauter.

Overall the canvas was good but I did have a problem with the pegs as I was putting the pegs in I noticed they were going through the edge of the canvas

Does the job
This is a great price canvas. I like to put another coat of gesso on top because I prefer a thicker base. But for a stretch canvas you can't go wrong.

Not as good as I wanted this to be
I tend to work in acryclics and like to buy reasonably priced canvasses for my projects. I had never bought these value ones from Hobbycraft before, so thought I would give them a go.
The back of the canvasses seem to be reasonably sturdy, which is definitely a plus.
Unfortunately, I'm working on a project where I need to use masking tape to mask off areas of the canvass and I think, due to the triple gloss that has been sprayed on them, this has proved super difficult (various masking tapes I have found seem to be adverse to it, which has nevered happened to me before). On top of that, the tape I did get to stay, when it came to removing it and very delicately might I add, in odd places a glimmer of a see through hole appeared: Nlt what you want!.
I am sure if you are just using acryclic or watercolour and not doing anything fancy they are fine but I won't buy them again, as they are not suitable for what I want to do.
I will also have to check the more expensive ones Hobbycraft does, as if they are sprayed with the same protection, I will have to leave them: If I want to protect a canvass, I'd prefer to do this myself once the painting/piece is done.
