Great product
I used this mould to bake a football cake for my sons birthday. I actually only needed half of it, but it worked well and the end result was great. It did take slightly longer to cook due to the depth of the ball. The patterns inside are great which show you how to do various cakes using the mould

Easy to use
These tins were great. I prepared the tins as instructed and the cakes came out clean. The only comment I have is that due to the depth in the middle it took a lot longer to cook leaving the outer edge a bit dry. May be best to wrap sides with foil to slow that bit down.

Excellent
I was a little bit sceptical that this would turn out how I wanted but it was brilliant. I wanted to make a bb-8 cake. The cake cooked beautifully and I used Wilton cake release on it and it wasn’t stuck and left me with a complete circle cake ready to ice, perfect!!

slightly smaller than expected but if I'd measured would have known.
made a death star cake and came out really well. need a well rising mix and lots of mixture to fill the entire tin but 3rd time lucky and it works. came out a perfect sphere and really impressed.

Great tin
Bought as a last minute thing to make a malteser choc Christmas pudding (I didn't fancy layering cake and cutting shape out). Tin is thin and flimsy but cooks evenly (and quicker than expected), cake stand really useful when pouring in mixture for stability.

Really easy to use and good result.
I used this baking tin to make a Pokeball cake for my son's birthday. I used it with the Wilton cake release. It was really easy to use and the cake released straight from the tin giving a perfect sphere. I was very pleased with the final results.

Good size and cooks well
The two tins make a good size and cook the sponges very even.
The tins are a bit thin so be careful when cleaning then etc as you can dent them easily.
Overall very good for the money and would recommend.

Sphere cake tin
Good product. Still trying to figure out the quantity of cake mix to add to each tin as I couldn’t find the amount needed on the instructions. Other wise easy to use and non stick. Very easy to clean.

I used the tins to make a basketball cake and found it useful for a pumpkin halloween cake. it was difficult to judge just how much cake mix was required and care was needed to keep tin level in oven

Cake Tin and Fondant Icing
Star Wars Death Star Birthday Cake made using the Wilton Sports Ball Hemisphere Cake Tin. Ideal tin for the cake - not too small nor so big. Cake turned out fantastic. Used Renshaw ready to roll icing, grey, which was an ideal colour. Consistency of the fondant icing made it easy to roll as well as to mould the Death Star shapes.

Didn’t work
Unfortunately this cake tin didn’t work. The cake didn’t cook through, despite my best efforts. Even when it was very crusty & overcooked on the outside, the inside was still runny. I followed the recipe that came with it but I had to throw it away as it was inedible. Disappointing as it was for my son’s birthday.

Great versatile cake tin
Love this Wilton tin. So easy to use and great for making a whole variety of cakes - not just sport related either (I got mine with the intention of using it to make an igloo for Christmas but also intend to use it in the new year to form a baby bump cake for a family members baby shower!)

Handy tin
Used this to make a shark cake and it worked well. However, I sprayed it and dusted with flour and the cake still got stuck (so will definitely use paper to line it next time) and it’s not very thick and seems a bit flimsy, which makes me think it might not stand up to too many uses?

Well worth the investment
A fab product that can be used for so many different cakes. Not just balls! Shame they are a bit fragile, so be careful not to drop them, as they dent easily. However the dent is easily pressed out with a little gentle coaxing. Would love to see them in bigger sizes
