Women's Institute Cream Soft and Silky 4 Ply Yarn 100g

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Great looking yarn and crocheting up lovely. Got lots of balls for a baby blanket but each ball is going further than expected. Using a 4.5mm hook and it's fine have used 3 mm upwards and they all worked well. Will be making a teddy from this yarn in the future also as it's so soft and snuggly. Buy buy buy you'll love it. In my option it works more like double knit yarn but try a tension square first. Love it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You have to love this yarn! I love this yarn. This cream is so soft and yummy you could almost pour it over ice cream. It's a pleasure to use with its soft strength. You'd think a yarn at this price would feel cheap with no weight. But it knits and crochets with a quality finish. My only slight criticism is that you can get a small tuft of fibre occasionally. These I have gently picked out leaving a perfect thread.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best synthetic yarn by far I've been using both the 4ply and DK version of Womens Institute Soft and Silky yarn for some time now. The best synthetic yarn I've used for a long time. It doesn't bobble up anywhere near as quickly as most other synths. It washes well in the machine on a 30degree wash and dries with no ironing on the cool setting in my dryer if you take it out as soon as the dryer has finished.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely wool! This wool is lovely and soft for a baby blanket I'm crocheting. I'm enjoying using this wool- will definately use it again. I've noticed a break in the wool on the first ball so had to make a knot but i love the quality of the wool so I'm willing to overlook it and hope it's just that ball and not the other two I have. I think it's good value at 3 for price of 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy Lovely 4ply yarn, I'm knitting a cricket jumper for my 6 year old grandson and its working out really well. Wool was also good value for money, so couldn't be happier. Being retired I'd have no trouble spending a £50 voucher at Hobbycraft as I'm always having to be careful how much I spend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's good value life the money but never in stock! I started project and wasn't sure how much I need, I needed order 3 more online as my local store never had any in store in stock past 3 weeks checked every day nearly..... disappointing as turns out now I need more and now it's same story and will have to order online waste my money again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very soft yarn I have used this yarn several times, and it is very soft, and looks beautiful. There is a smallish range of colours, but all are beautiful! The yarn may not be thick enough to be called double knitting, but it is almost too thick for 4 ply, so choose your needles/hook carefully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely and soft yarn, easy to work with I used this yarn as a substitute for a Debbie Bliss yarn as it was cheaper. I knitted a babies cardigan, the size came out very close to the pattern sizing/tension. I matched the tension given on the pattern to the tension on ball band. Very pleased with the outcome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant for baby blankets This yarn is really blissful to crochet with and makes lovely soft and snuggly baby blankets. It also washes really well...perfect! Everyone has been absolutely thrilled with the blankets and making them was a real treat! Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice wool to work with I like this wool for my crochet products as it has a nice smooth finish. My only disappointment is the range of colours available, I wish there were more colour choices. I also love that this item is usually on a 3 for 2 offer :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful to work with. I crochet...not knit. This wool is my 'go too' wool. I absolutely love and adore it. It works up beautifully and washes extremely well. My only criticism is there aren't enough colours!!! I need more. Lol. The best wool ever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for traditional knitting This microfiber acrylic is excellent if you are an even knitter - gives a lovely silky finish. However the yarn strands do separate on the needle so you need to make sure you knit through the whole stitch when this happens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is great quality yarn. I buy this yarn quite often for knitting matinee jackets and other baby items. It really is soft, silky and great quality and knits up perfectly every time. I would recommend the cream it has a lovely vintage hue about it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this 4 ply wool. I have knitted many many cardigans with this 4 ply wool for my granddaughter who is now three. My daughter is allergic to woolly wool so this product is idea. I also use your cotton acrylic mix in double knitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely silky feel yarn I love this yarn, it's soft and silky. I've used this yarn on many projects from toys to blankets, it knits up beautifully. It can be a little awkward because the strands can split apart but it's worth the effort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Womens Institute Soft and Silky Yarn Cream I used this product to crochet a sleeveless jacket for a friend. The wool was smooth to crochet with and did not break up when using. The jacket looks wonderful and I am very proud of making it with this wool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Two minds This yarn is fine to crochet with but I am alarmed at the number of faults in it. Luckily with the item I am crocheting I am able to work the faults in but it would be a different matter if I was knitting!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from this product is so silky This yarn is so silky. I made a cardigan with it and it is lovely to wear. My only issue with this yarn is it unravels easily when you get to the end of the ball so has the potential to waste a bit

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New purchase of wool. This wool is beautiful and soft with a nice sheen. It comes in a good selection of colours. I used it to crochet a shawl. The only problem with the wool is that it had a tendency to split.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not used before I bought this ready for next project which needed 4 ply, as this is the first time I have knitted with this, I am very pleased with it, as I am a tight knitter it is knitting up rather nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slightly thicker than normal 4 ply Although this is slightly thicker, it has a beautiful soft feel and sheen to it, knits up well. Wonderful for baby items as well as adult. Used it many times and would recommend it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for a cot blanket! Bought this wool to make a cot blanket. Lovely to work with, it is what is say - very soft. You do need to concentrate when knitting though as the yarn does split very easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for amigurumi I do a lot of crocheting and have used alsorts of yarn. I have found that this one is best for amigurumi as it can be used with a fairly small hook and doesn't bobble.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality yarn I am reluctant to buy acrylic yarn for my projects. But these yarns were beautiful to work with. I had to use a smaller hook size to get a neat end product though.
