Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely wool Hubby wanted vintage style sweater made. He chose the colour and the wool I started his sweater. Love the colour love the wool don't love the fact that every ball so far (7) have all been joined to make the ball. So having to keep taking out rows so no join in the row..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft chunky easy to use The WI chunky wool is fantastic and great value. It is very soft and importantly doesn't scratch when in contact with skin. I used it for a crochet project and it glides on the hook smoothly and quickly. It looks very luxurious. I will definitely use it again. Lubka

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of colours tho choose from Not only did I find the perfect colour, the 30% merino makes the texture so soft. The 3 for 2 deal made my purchase even better, so much so that I went back the next day for more. My new scarf is so lovely, it is a shame I can't send a picture

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely and soft I used this wool to crochet a giant granny square. It grew really fast as I used a 12mm hook. I used a 3 colour combo of cream, grey and mustard/yellow and it looks amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wool Fantastic wool for my blanket, they don’t have a large colour range in chunky wool however the colours they do have are fantastic and great quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to work with Great value. Does have a tendency to split which can be annoying. On the whole, good quality but produces excellent finish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for scarf Absolutely love these chunky knits. They are my go to for finger crotcheting a scarf. The grey in particular starts to split toward the end of the yarn ball, which makes it a little harder to work with but doesnt effect the look of the final product. Cannot comment on how the wool would fair with crotchet/knitting needles. For my purpose...great!very soft and perfect for winter scarf

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely soft yarn This was a lovely yarn to work with. I'm not an expert knitter - I was only making chain mail for my daughter to wear to 1066 Day at school - but with chunky needles, it went quickly. My daughter won't wear pure wool because it itches but she loved this. It feels quite natural, more like cotton than wool but it has more warmth to it than cotton does. The grey colour was perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Chunky Twisty Tangle Bought specifically for knitting bobble hats. I knit loose but had to drop 2 full needle sizes for correct tension. Colours are good but yarn twists constantly whilst knitting it up. Frustrating and affecting finished appearance as variations in thickness. Got it as 3 for 2 but if I lived closer to Hobbycraft I would have returned the other 4 unused balls.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very soft yarn that knits up nicely. Chunky weight, synthetic yarn with a reasonable proportion of merino wool. Yarn knitted up well and felt soft and smooth to the touch. Overall good quality product, which gave a quality finish. Because it is a chunky yarn, the yarn fibres occasionally separated. Band label only gave weight of yarn but did not contain any details re yardage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very chunky, not chunky The yarn is lovely and soft but is really extra chunky not chunky, as described on the label. I was slightly disappointed to discover that it is hand wash only. This might prove to be difficult as the garment is quite heavy now it's finished so hand washing might be quite a challenge. I will probably resort to the washing machine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I am very happy with my wool purchase. I got three for 2 on the balls and have used all three balls to make a very large granny square crocheted blanket. The wool is very cosy and thick. The only down side is not having a varied selection of neutral or light coloured wool. However the do have a good selection of darker colours

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good yarn for first jumper project I struggled to find the right yarn for my first jumper project, initially buying one that was supposedly chunky but didn’t get the gauge I needed. This yarn was very good value and is making a good jumper. Only issue so far has been there was one knot with over-twisted yarn at one point in one of the balls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic quality yarn Bought this in order to make a large crochet toy. I am a beginner at crochet and wasn't sure that this would be the correct yarn but bought it because it felt sooooo soft. Turned out to be a great choice for me because the yarn is so forgiving, doesn't fray/split and so soft which is perfect for a cuddly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this yarn!! I LOVE this yarn and all it’s different colours!! The stitches always look so neat and is so easy to crochet with because of its chunkyness! It’s not the softest so wouldn’t do well for blankets but is perfect for animals and teddy’s ! It’s also a really good price and is usually 3 for 2.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from customer service?????? Whilst the wool was lovely and soft, loved the colour and was delivered promptly I had to send the whole order back as they sent different lot numbers. Apparently hobby craft cant guarentee the same lot number, therefore of no use to me as I required 21 balls of wool for a large project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft and Cuddly This yarn was the perfect choice for my garment as it was so soft to the touch and esy to work with. The colour range was good and the price very reasonable. I bought in store which was useful as I was able to feel the yarn and get a realistic view of the tones of colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully soft yarn Bought three balls of this yarn and made two big infinity scarves for my sisters as a little present. This was last week and they wear it every day. The yarn is so beautifully soft and was an absolute pleasure to knit. Would definitely buy again to make more scarves :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely texture Really nice feel thanks to the merino. It's a very neutral dark grey colour, like the body of a shark or whale, and has a smooth, thick texture. It did twist a lot while I was knitting which slowed me down as I had to keep stopping to straighten it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chunky, Soft Wool I'm pretty new to the world of crochet and I've been looking for soft chunky wool. This is new favourite and I'm using to make a scarf. The wool is soft and thick and will keep anyone warm. It would be great for a blanket too which is my next project.
