Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I was half way through my project and half way through my ball of wool, when i came across a knot and frayed wool. I have never got my wool from Hobbycraft before.I thought it was quite expensive but as it was premium wool and 3p would be going to the Womens Institute I decided to try it, unfortunately i have been put off buying it from here again. I took a photo and kept my receipt to go in the shop to show them but not had time to do so as yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing quality Have previously bought this brand of wool, and this purchase was made with two balls of similar quality in different colours, and have been very happy. This particular ball in this colour is of very inferior quality. I have bought these as a craft project, the texture and weight of this yarn is noticeably different. I would have considered retuning, but unfortunately had disposed of yarn band.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great colour I am using this yarn with their 'school green' and their 'brown' yarn from the same range, but i noticed the yarn is thinner compared to the others. This is quite annoying as i am in the making of a patchwork cardigan, (using all three yarns). Its definitely less easier to crochet with. I would still recommend if you had a project only using this yarn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Womens Institute knitting wool Cannot fault this knitting wool have brought it in double knitting and aran. Its great doesnot split stitches when knitting always gives a tidy end produce which washes well and keeps its shape. Beautiful colours available. 100gram and 400gram ball size at a very reasonable price. Well done Hobby Craft only ever seen this make in your store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this yarn at all, which was a real shame as I was happy to be supporting a well known charity with my purchase, but knitting with it was a great disappointment - yarn was thin and knitted up very unevenly. I ended up taking it back sand exchanging it for a different, better known brand

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really lovely quality The yarn is sumptuously soft and knits up well maintaining a consistent thickness throughout. I also used some for crocheting , again I was impressed with the quality, no splitting, which is a delight. All in all, considering this was in the bargain price range, its performance is definitely up at the higher end of quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely one of the best DK yarns! I usually always shop in store so I can get the best idea of the quality of yarns that I’m going to be using for a new project. This is by far the most versatile, durable yarn I have ever bought. Really well priced and there are more selections of colour to choose from than arguably any other brand. 10/10 recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from satisfactory wool Good colour and easy to knit with, though it didnt go as far as it should have done (100g). I am going to start weighing all balls of knitting yarn when I get them home...Not making a direct acusation, just noting my own decision to see that I get eactly what is stated on the lable. But I will buy this brand again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super soft and lovely to work with This yarn is excellent value for money. It is strong, yet soft, and is super easy to both crochet and knit with. When used with a larger crochet hook, it makes superb lace effect scarves and shawls. The shades in the range harmonise beautifully with one another. Highly recommended.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible packagjng Product was ok (6 balls of wool) but the packaging was terrible. So much so that when the package (plastic bag) was taped up, it caught two of the balls of wool and I had to cut them out of the packaging! Therefore damaging the items. Suggestion: pack yarn in a box!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't use plastic. This yarn always looks inviting and the colours are pretty. However it is plastic abd I would think better of the WI if they ditched the acrylic and used natural fibres. I purchased this yarn for a friend to complete a project but would not purchase it for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for beginners I’ve used quite a lot of acrylic yarn but these yarns are my favourite. They don’t split apart so easily and it makes knitting and crochet so much easier, especially for beginners like myself. I crocheted a baby bonnet from this yarn and it’s lovely and soft

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WI DK premium yarn I am dissatisfied with this yarn (honey colour) as it feels thinner and crocheting smaller than the other two colours I purchased (cream and aqua) to crochet a granny square blanket. As it is sold as a premium yarn I very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So soft and a beautiful colour, unbelievable value I crocheted a scarf with this wool for my niece. It’s unbelievably soft, lovely to crochet with. The finished project is beautiful, the colour so flattering. I’m going to make myself one. Also on the 3 for 2 offe. Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely to knit with I bought this wool along with a dark brown to knit a teddy bear hat for my son, it's very soft and knits up lovely. It was on a 3for2 offer making it a very reasonable price, I will definitely buy this brand again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Colours to choose from I buy my wool and accessories from hobbycraft because of the varied choice in colours, patterns and accessories. I use the WI premium yarn a lot and there are lots of vibrant colours. Once you start you won’t stop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Love WI yarn so much colour choice I usually end up buying more than I went in for. Loving the new Exeter store and how they have laid out the yarn and it saves me travelling 20 miles to the Newton Abbott store

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wool It’s good value for money, however does seem to fluctuate in quality. You could have two of the same balls of wool and one would be rough and the other soft. Overall a good product that I consistently purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful soft yarn I absolutely loved this yarn. It knitted up so beautifully, and was so smooth on the needles. It also washes really nicely and my jumper has kept it's shape plus the colour has not faded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value Good value wools from this WI range. The picture is good for colour although I would probably have called it oatmeal. Honey is generally a more yellow colour and this is not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite the usual standard Quite disappointed as this is knitting up quite thinly for DK,Other colours I have used in this product before,I have been very pleased with as they have knitted as true DK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good wool for knitting Christmas toys A good yarn for knitting toys. A nice range of colours and the wool is strong but soft when knitted up. Happy to recommend for smaller items... haven't used it for clothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This wool is so soft, it’s a pleasure to knit I was looking for some wool to knit myself a jumper. I chose the WI wool as I have used it before but also to show loyalty to the W I as I am the President for a local group
