Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft and chunky A beautiful soft and chunky wool. This is lovely and chunky and works up lovely with a 9mm hook or needle. It’s lovely and soft as is made with 30% merino wool. It does have a tendency of fraying easily but this isn’t too difficult to work with. I really enjoy working with this wool, it works up quickly and makes a beautiful chunky blanket. I just wish they did more colours in this range.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed by price increase!! Beautiful wool but not impressed with the price increase! I have been paying £4.40 a ball for a long time and now it has increased to £6 a ball. Very disappointed with this. I had to purchase so I could finish my blanket. I will not be buying again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value Yarn Not as soft as other yarns and definitely at the smaller end of chunky, but great value for the price, especially when on 3 for 2. I would suggest that it works better on a 6.5 or 7mm needle though, not the 9mm as suggested.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Contains wool Be aware - this yarn contains wool. This fact is not obvious on the website and I ordered thinking it was acrylic like other WI yarns I had bought in the past. I cannot use or wear wool so have had to give it away to a friend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality I bought this yarn to crochet a blanket in griddle stitch in blue, yellow, cream and grey. It is chunky and has a consistent texture throughout the whole ball. It is a dull gold colour and sits nicely with other colours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect hair wool! I bought this to unpick and use as curly hair for the doll I've been making, and was horrified to discover it was made of 12 strands and not the 4 in the previous chunky I bought. It took me forever, cutting it to the right length and then picking each piece apart into 3 lots of 4 and the hooking them into the wig cap I'd sewn onto the doll, but boy, was it worth it! It made GREAT hair because being 12 strands each was thinner than the last ball I bought. Worth the hours I spent doing it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like being able to support the WI WI chunky wool - beautiful colours available and wool feels really nice to work with. Unfortunately there were 3-4 knots in a ball of 100g wool - hence the 4 stars and not 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal I purchased this on a 3 for 2 deal, which was extra value for money, as the wool price in itself was very good for the price. Much softer than the original wool I was working with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Ideal wool. Perfect for crocheting or knitting a blanket as it is very soft .It is bit expensive but money well spent and the quality is very good. Will definitely buy it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They’ve changed it for the worse Not as good as it used to be, quite a lot tighter wound and very stiff. Needed a lot more to finish a project than I had needed with the older version

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Run out of wool I ran out of this wool and went in store to get more about 8 weeks later and they found me the exact one very pleased

Rated 3 out of 5 by from soft chunky wool very soft, easy to knit. Downside is the frayed sections within the ball resulting in long sections of wasted wool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BEWARE - CONTAINS MERINO WOOL I'm sure this is lovely yarn, it comes in very pretty colours and looks nice. I usually love the Women's Institute yarns in DK and aran, because they're 100% acrylic and I'm allergic to wool. So when I had a pattern that needed chunky yarn, I didn't check and just assumed this would be that same. I realised it wasn't when my hands started to itch just from holding the skein of yarn. Completely my fault of course, but just a warning to anyone else who has an allergy!!
