Wooden Artist Manikin 30cm

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I saw this as competitively priced and with good reviews so I figured it was fine. The glue attaching the legs to the body is very visible and is glued at an angle that means that one of the legs is unable to be moved backwards past the metal support rod. The knee joints only lock in a few select positions and will spring back unless it’s in one of them. I would love to test more positions but I am planning to return it and don’t trust it not to snap while testing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such fun This was brought for my husband who “Has always wanted one of the those”. He is a photographer so uses it for light, shadows Etc. Every morning the position of legs and arms has changed. My coffee table has never been so interesting. Grandchildren and Visitors all seem to gravitate towards it and it’s certainly a conversation starter. We were trying to determine its gender. But feel it really is just an it. Great fun and well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my project! I bought this item in a moment of creative inspiration - I am a photographer and I was working on a project to show the varying stages of light throughout the day. It was great for my still life approach, yet it also allowed me to see how different lights look against a body. I now use it to test my light for different portrait shots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adds character to my desk Been trying to decorate my new desk, and thought I’d pair this little guy with the possible hand. They both guard over my desk and are great for helping me knuckle down on drawing those poses which I couldn’t before. Sometimes his joints are a little stiff and only provide limited movement range, but overall great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Used It differently My wife and I enjoy a game of Catan of a Saturday afternoon and we used this manikin to represent Art, a nominal third player working to a regular algorithm so we don't ave to play two hands each. It worked brilliantly and Art is just the right size although my wife threatens to paint him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product I purchased this item recently as a Christmas gift for my Step-daughter who loves to draw and is very good at art. It is much better than I imagined it would be. It is easy to move and will enable her to draw human like features with ease. I am very impressed with it for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great basic art Manikin For the price, this manikin is an excellent way to achieve the basic outline of the human form in various poses. With a little effort, the manikin comes off the wire stand allowing it to be used in sitting and other positions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fairly Good Quality I bought this for my husband, as he is learning to draw figures. It's fairly good quality for the price. Every part can be moved except the hips. They are rigid, (glued) so no sideways splits for this manikin!
Date published: 2018-08-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic with limited use. This manikin is good for some poses but is restricted in its use. The legs do not move sideways and the base is small so any big movements at it falls over. It is not expensive and is good for upper body use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchase was exactly what I needed and great value. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I have just started an art class the manikin that I purchased has helped greatly when drawing figures getting dimensions more accurate. I will certainly get more art equipment as I progress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drawing mannequin As a born again artist with a new studio, I thought a wooden mannequin is the first item any artist should own so bought this from Hobby Craft. It’s great quality and good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Daughter aged 11 has been using the art mannequin to practice pencil drawing different action poses. Each limb joint is individually moveable. Small enough to fit on her desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality item I needed to get a poseable figure to use for my drawing and this fits the bill, well made and sturdy. As it is a hobbycraft own brand the price was very competitive.
