This chunky West Yorkshire Spinners yarn is a chunky roving yarn that you can knit up with 6.5mm needles. It is reared, sheared and spun in Britain, ensuring every design you knit up will be exceptional quality. Retreat is 100% Bluefaced Kerry Hill wool, giving you a hybrid of the Kerry Hill and Bluefaced Leicester.

West Yorkshire Spinners have partnered with mental health charity Mind for the Retreat yarn. Developed with wellbeing in mind, 50p will be donated for every kilo of yarn.

The 'roving' style gives some natural variation in yarn diameter, and you do need to take care not to split or break it when knitting, but it has coped brilliantly with a novice attempting a knitted Afghan blanket (including unpicking mistakes more than once...) Would definitely use this again
